Abstract

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency in 2022, beef production will reach 436.7 tons in Indonesia. Based on this, it shows that the waste generated from beef production is quite a lot, the waste resulting from the processing of cows contains bone waste containing hydroxyapatite (HAp). HAp itself has the potential to be a useful source of hydroxyapatite for biomedical applications. Hydroxyapatite has quite good biocompatibility. Aluminum waste is also often encountered, namely in canned beverage waste. The aluminum content in beverage cans is quite high, namely above 90% but still has impurities, so the impurities must be removed first, namely by fluxing using KCl and NaCl compounds. The hydroxyapatite obtained from beef bone waste is ground to a size of 200 mesh, as well as aluminum from tin cans which is crushed to a size of 200 mesh. By adding 200 mesh of magnesium powder and 200 mesh of titanium powder, the samples were then mixed and compacted under a pressure of 171 MPa. After the sample becomes solid, the SIS method is then carried out at a temperature of 850oC for 2 hours using a special mold, namely the ST 41 mold. Based on the results of data analysis of the mechanical properties of the composite based on beef bone hydroxyapatite, with canned aluminum, magnesium and titanium, the Vickers hardness value and the highest compressive strength is on a 20 wt.% titanium composition of 48.8 HV and 33.58 MPa.

Additional Information: Berdasarkan data pada Badan Pusat Statistik pada tahun 2022 menyatakan bahwa produksi daging sapi mencapai 436,7 ton di Indonesia. Berdasarkan hal ini menunjukkan bahwa limbah yang dihasilkan dari produksi daging sapi ini cukup banyak, limbah hasil sisa pemerosesan sapi terdapat limbah tulang yang mengandung hidroksiapatit (HAp). HAp sendiri berpotensi menjadi sumber hidroksiapatit yang berguna untuk aplikasi biomedik. Hidroksiapatit memiliki biokompatibilitas yang cukup baik. Limbah aluminium juga sering kita temui, yaitu pada limbah minuman kaleng. Kandungan alumunium pada kaleng minuman cukup tinggi yaitu di atas 90% namun masih memiliki pengotor (impurities), maka harus dihilangkan pengotornya terlebih dahulu yaitu dengan cara melakukan fluxing menggunakan senyawa KCl dan NaCl. Hidroksiapatit yang diperoleh dari limbah tulang sapi dihaluskan hingga berukuran 200 mesh, begitu pula dengan aluminium limbah kaleng dihaluskan hingga 200 mesh. Dengan penambahan serbuk magnesium berukuran 200 mesh serta serbuk titanium berukuran 200 mesh, setelah itu sampel dicampur dan dikompaksi dengan tekanan 171 MPa. Setelah sampel menjadi padat, motode SIS kemudian dilakukan pada temperatur 850oC selama 2 jam dengan menggunakan cetakan khusus yaitu cetakan ST 41. Berdasarkan hasil analisa data sifat mekanik komposit berbasis hidroksiapatit tulang sapi, dengan logam aluminium kaleng, magnesium dan titanium didapat nilai kekerasan Vickers dan nilai kuat tekan tertinggi yaitu pada komposisi titanium 20 wt.% sebesar 48,8 HV dan 33,58 MPa.
