Abstract

Infrastructure development is one indicator of a country's progress, including road infrastructure development. In road construction, the utilization and renewal of waste from the construction sector has become an important issue in recent years in an effort to reduce the use of raw materials. On the other hand, the limited construction raw materials and the increasing demand for aggregates and asphalt for construction that will occur in the future need to be sought for alternative materials. RAP (reclaimed asphalt pavement) can be used. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in aggregate content (RAP) of 0%, 25%, and 50% on the characteristics of marshalls in asphalt concrete mixtures between Asphalt Concrete Base Course (AC-BC). by testing the characteristics of materials and marshalls. The results obtained from this study indicate that the use of RAP (reclaimed asphalt pavement) as a substitute for aggregate. Through a marshall test referring to the general specifications of Bina Marga 2018, the ideal proportion of adding RAP (reclaimed asphalt pavement) to the asphalt concrete mixture was obtained based on the highest stability value in each mixture proportion that meets all the characteristics of the marshall mixture according to the general specifications of Bina Marga 2018 Division 6 for the type of Asphalt Concrete Layer (Laston) Intermediate Layer (AC-BC) mixture, namely at a content (RAP) of 0% with an asphalt content of 5.5% with a stability value of 1052.97 kg. Where from the results of this study it can be concluded that the use of RAP (reclaimed asphalt pavement) as a substitute for aggregate can be used as a road paving material because it meets the Bina Marga Specification Standards.
