Abstract

PT XYZ is a chemical manufacturing company that requires high levels of concentration, accuracy, and job responsibility, particularly in the Engineering Department. These conditions may lead to high mental workload and affect employee job satisfaction and productivity. This study aims to analyze mental workload, job satisfaction, and productivity of employees in the Engineering Department of PT XYZ. Mental workload was measured using the Rating Scale Mental Effort (RSME) method, job satisfaction was assessed using the Abridged Job Descriptive Index (AJDI), and productivity was analyzed using the Work Sampling method. The results show that the average mental workload score was 121.7, which falls into the very high effort category, with the highest score of 139 found in the Workshop Operator position and the lowest score of 80 in the Engineering Process Engineer position. Job satisfaction measurement using AJDI indicates an average score of 2.9, categorized as moderately satisfied, with the lowest satisfaction observed in the salary and reward system aspects. Work Sampling analysis shows that the average percentage of productive activities was approximately 76%, with productivity ranging from 70.48% to 82.86%, indicating effective utilization of working time. Based on these results, improvements in workload management and work system arrangements are required to enhance employee well-being and performance.
