Abstract
Batik is an Indonesian cultural heritage that has been recognized by UNESCO. However, batik mold production still faces challenges, such as the high cost and long manufacturing time of copper-based canting cap. This research aims to develop a batik mold made from wood (teak and mahogany) based on CNC Router technology to improve production efficiency and quality. The research method involved field observation, Kawunganten motif design using AutoCAD and UcanCAM, and two-factor factorial experiment (wood type and wood weight) with 6 replications and pattern size accuracy parameters based on ISO 2768 1:1989 standard. The results showed that batik mold made from mahogany wood met the pattern size accuracy tolerance (GO) with deviations of +0.01 and -0.01 cm, while teak wood did not meet the standard (NO GO). ANOVA analysis revealed that wood type (density) had a significant effect on batik mold quality (p-value 0,011), while wood weight (wet/dry) had no significant effect (p-value 0,839). The study results indicate that, mahogany wood is superior in producing high-quality batik mold compared to teak wood. The application of CNC Router technology proved to be effective in improving production precision and efficiency. This study recommends the use of mahogany wood as an alternative material for batik mold for the batik industry.

Additional Information: | Batik merupakan warisan budaya Indonesia yang telah diakui oleh UNESCO. Namun, produksi batik cap masih menghadapi tantangan, seperti biaya tinggi dan waktu pembuatan canting cap berbahan tembaga yang lama. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan canting batik cap berbahan kayu (jati dan mahoni) berbasis teknologi CNC Router untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan kualitas produk. Metode penelitian melibatkan observasi lapangan, desain motif Kawunganten menggunakan AutoCAD dan UcanCAM, serta eksperimen faktorial dua faktor (jenis kayu dan berat kayu) dengan 6 replikasi serta parameter ketelitian ukuran pola berdasarkan standar ISO 2768-1:1989. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa canting cap berbahan kayu mahoni memenuhi toleransi ketelitian ukuran pola (GO) dengan deviasi +0,01 dan -0,01 cm, sedangkan kayu jati tidak memenuhi standar (NO GO). Analisis ANOVA mengungkapkan bahwa jenis kayu (densitas) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas canting cap (p-value 0,011), sementara berat kayu (basah/kering) tidak berpengaruh signifikan (p-value 0,839). Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan, kayu mahoni lebih unggul dalam menghasilkan canting batik cap berkualitas tinggi dibandingkan kayu jati. Penerapan teknologi CNC Router terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan presisi dan efisiensi produksi.
