Abstract

This study aims to determine the ratio of bamboo particles and palm fronds as a hybrid filler to the performance of particle boards. The research was conducted at COE 2, 3rd floor of the Faculty of Engineering, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The analysis was carried out using statistical methods and included three samples: oil palm fronds as filler (A), a mixture of palm fronds and bamboo (B), and bamboo (C). The results showed that in the physical test, the use of a mixture of palm fronds and bamboo as fillers affected the density value so that it reached 0.879 g/cm³. In contrast, the use of bamboo filler affected moisture content (12.4%), thickening development (9.2%), and water absorption percentage (13.7%). In mechanical testing, bamboo filler affects the bending strength value to reach 133.86 kgf/cm², while the filler mixed with palm frond and bamboo affects the Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) value, reaching 19855.01 kgf/cm².

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui rasio partikel bambu dan pelepah kelapa sawit sebagai filler hybrid terhadap kinerja papan partikel. Penelitian dilakukan di COE 2, lantai 3 Fakultas Teknik Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode statistik dan mencakup tiga sampel: pelepah kelapa sawit sebagai filler (A), campuran pelepah kelapa sawit dan bambu (B), dan bambu (C). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada pengujian fisis, penggunaan campuran pelepah kelapa sawit dan bambu sebagai filler mempengaruhi nilai densitas sehingga mencapai 0,879 g/cm³. Sebaliknya, penggunaan filler bambu mempengaruhi kadar air (12,4%), pengembangan tebal (9,2%), dan persentase serapan air (13,7%). Pada pengujian mekanis, filler bambu mempengaruhi nilai kekuatan lentur mencapai 133,86 kgf/cm², sedangkan filler campuran pelepah kelapa sawit dan bambu mempengaruhi nilai Modulus of Elasticity (MOE), mencapai 19855,01 kgf/cm².
