Abstract

Kaligandu intersection is an signalized intersection that has four arms located in Serang City, Banten. This intersection condition has limited capacity and vehicle movement is quite high during rush hour, because the conditions around the intersection are access to main roads such as schools and shopping areas, resulting in traffic congestion at the intersection. The purpose of this study is to determine traffic flow conditions, determine the performance of the intersection, and provide alternative solutions to improve the performance of the Kaligandu intersection. The calculations used refer to the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI, 2014) and modeling using PTV VISSIM 23 Student Version software. Based on research results, the existing conditions of the intersection produce a degree of saturation on the North, South, East and West approaches of 1.028, 0.918, 0.600 and 0.879 respectively. Intersection performance using PKJI 2014 resulted in the largest queue length is 170 m, an average delay of 102,568 sec/skr with a level of service (LOS) including level F (very bad). For intersection performance using PTV VISSIM software, produces the largest queue length is 112,538 m, a delay value of 90,707 sec, and the level of service is F (very bad). The best alternative used to improve the performance of the Kaligandu intersection is to use combination of re-setting traffic signal, phase changes, and geometric widening so the intersection level of service increases to C (medium).

Additional Information: Simpang Kaligandu merupakan salah satu simpang APILL yang memiliki empat lengan yang berlokasi di Kota Serang, Banten. Kondisi simpang ini memiliki kapasitas yang terbatas dan pergerakan kendaraan yang cukup tinggi pada jam sibuk, karena kondisi sekitar simpang merupakan akses jalan utama seperti sekolah, area pertokoan, sehingga mengakibatkan kemacetan pada simpang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kondisi arus lalu lintas, mengetahui kinerja simpang, serta memberikan alternatif solusi untuk meningkatkan kinerja simpang Kaligandu. Perhitungan yang digunakan mengacu pada Pedoman Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia (PKJI, 2014) dan pemodelan menggunakan software PTV VISSIM 23 Student Version. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian kondisi eksisting simpang menghasilkan derajat kejenuhan pada pendekat Utara, Selatan, Timur, dan Barat masing-masing sebesar 1,028, 0,918, 0,600, dan 0,879. Kinerja simpang menggunakan PKJI 2014 menghasilkan panjang antrian terbesar yaitu 170 m, tundaan rata-rata sebesar 102,568 det/skr dengan tingkat pelayanan (LOS) termasuk pada tingkat F (buruk sekali). Untuk kinerja simpang menggunakan software PTV VISSIM menghasilkan panjang antrian terbesar yaitu 112,538 m, nilai tundaan sebesar 90,707 det, dan tingkat pelayanan simpang yaitu F (sangat buruk). Alternatif terbaik yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan kinerja simpang Kaligandu yaitu dengan melakukan kombinasi pengaturan ulang waktu sinyal, perubahan fase, dan pelebaran geometrik sehingga menghasilkan tingkat pelayanan simpang meningkat menjadi C (sedang).
