Abstract

The livestock industry is increasingly advanced and the demand for livestock is definitely there every day. Developments carried out by the livestock industry must be carried out so that the production process and consumer demand are balanced. Automatic tools are needed to speed up the production process or clean and fast poultry processing process. One of the livestock industries is the chicken slaughterhouse (RPA). RPA is a place where carcasses are processed into chickens that are ready to be sold. This RPA already uses machines for carcass processing, from boiling chickens to the process of removing chicken feathers. The Mobile Poultry Slaughterhouse is used to pluck chicken feathers. Before plucking, there is a boiling or scalding process to make the feather plucking process easier. In this study, 20, 40 and 60 seconds were used at a temperature of 52-55 degrees Celsius and feather removal for 60 seconds in a mobile poultry slaughterhouse machine. This hair removal process is used to obtain the length of the feathers removed after boiling, comparing the length of the feathers removed between variations in the time used. Feather retention force also affects the feather removal process. Boiling for 60 seconds has a longer length of hair removed than other time variations. The increase in length in samples 2 and 3 over all time variations was due to slaughter being carried out simultaneously

Additional Information: Industri peternakan semakin maju dan permintaan terhadap hewan ternak setiap hari pasti ada. Perkembangan yang dilakukan industri peternakan harus dilakukan agar proses produksi dan permintaan konsumen seimbang. Diperlukan alat otomatis untuk mempercepat proses produksi atau proses pengolahan unggas yang bersih dan cepat. Salah satu industri peternakan yaitu rumah potong ayam (RPA). RPA yaitu tempat dimana karkas diolah menjadi ayam yang siap dijual. RPA ini sudah menggunakan mesin untuk pengolahan karkas, dari mulai perebusan ayam hingga proses pencabutan bulu ayam. Mobile poultry Slaughterhouse digunakan untuk pencabutan bulu ayam, sebelum dilakukan pencabutan ada proses perebusan atau scalding guna untuk memudahkan proses pencabutan bulu. Pada penelitian ini digunakan waktu 20, 40, dan 60 detik dalam suhu 52-55 derajat celcius dan pencabutan bulu selama 60 detik dalam mesin mobile poultry slaughterhouse. Proses pencabutan bulu ini guna untuk mendapatkan panjang bulu yang tercabut setelah dilakukan perebusan, membandingkan panjang bulu yang tercabut antar variasi waktu yang digunakan. force retention feather (FRF) juga mempengaruhi proses pencabutan bulu. Perebusan selama 60 detik memiliki panjang bulu yang tercabut lebih panjang dari variasi waktu lain. Mengingkatnya panjang pada sampel 2 dan 3 pada seluruh variasi waktu diakibatkan karena penyembelihan dilakukan secara bersamaan.
