Abstract

Abnormal temperature conditions at the termination of the 6.3 kV MV switchgear connection cable in distributing electrical energy to loads in the Power Plant Working Area (WKP) affect the performance of the equipment when left unattended and cause damage. Carrying out infrared thermography (IRT) testing with NEMA standards assisted by the Fishbone method can evaluate abnormal temperature conditions of 6.3 kV MV switchgear connection cables. Based on the test results, the abnormal temperature increase was 11.5°C, namely on the UMVB Hot Well Pump (HWP) A panel so continuous monitoring was carried out. The results of monitoring for a month showed that abnormal temperature increases occurred every week. The thermogram shows an abnormal temperature increase due to a hotspot located between the connector (skun) and cable conductor. The solution to the problem is to replace the connector with a type of material that is better in terms of conductivity, resistance and heat dissipation properties.

Additional Information: Kondisi suhu abnormal pada terminasi kabel koneksi MV switchgear 6.3 kV dalam mendistribusikan energi listrik ke beban-beban di Wilayah Kerja Pembangkit (WKP) mempengaruhi kinerja peralatan ketika dibiarkan dan menimbulkan kerusakan. Dilakukannya pengujian infrared thermography (IRT) dengan standar NEMA yang dibantu metode Fishbone dapat mengevaluasi kondisi suhu abnormal kabel koneksi MV switchgear 6.3 kV. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, kenaikan suhu abnormal bernilai 11,5°C yaitu pada panel UMVB Hot Well Pump (HWP) A sehingga dilakukan monitoring berkelanjutan. Hasil monitoring selama sebulan, kenaikan suhu abnormal terjadi setiap minggunya. Termogram menunjukkan kenaikan suhu abnormal disebabkan adanya hotspot yang terletak antara connector (skun) dan konduktor kabel. Solusi dari permasalahan yaitu mengganti connector dengan jenis bahan lebih baik dalam hal sifat konduktivitas, resistansi, dan pembuangan panas.
