Abstract

The objective of this reasearch is (1) to blend the theme and the activity of the program to improve children speaking ability, (2) to inprove children speaking ability by using drawing method, (3) to know the improvement of children speaking ability at Kemala Bhayangkari 2 Kindergarten, Pandeglang. This research is Classroom Action Education by using Kemmis and MC Taggart action Research method. The subjects of this research are 12 children from 5 and 6 years old at Kemala Bhayangkari 2 Kindergarten, Pandeglang- Banten. The object of this research is children speaking ability for 5 and 6 years old. Data collecting uses observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis uses qualitative and quantitative method with the successful indicator is 75%. Based on the research are (1) to blend the theme and the activity of the program like making dialy activity, e.g theme “Tanah Airku” sub theme “Negaraku”, in this activity the children write the slogan of Indonesia “Bhineka Tinggal Ika”, they will draw Garuda and mention pancasila and the symbols. (2) to improve children speaking ability for 5 and 6 years old by drawing like; the children describe their own journal. (3) to improve children speaking ability by using drawing method can be seen by e.g they are confident to speak in front of the class, they can either mention vocal and consonant flueantly and speak clearly, they can explore not only their curiousity but also imagination from their teachers explanation. This research show that children speaking ability increases 77.51% from 26.03%, the increment is 48.91%. From that data, we can conclude that drawing method improves children speaking ability for 5-6 years old at Kemala Bhayangkari 2 Kindergarten, Pandeglang- Banten.
