Abstract

Early Childhood Education (PAUD) plays a vital role in developing cognitive abilities in children aged 5–6 years. This study aims to examine the implementation of educational playmats to support cognitive development at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Pandeglang, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and provide solutions to enhance their effectiveness. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and field notes. The results indicate that structured lesson planning with playmats makes learning more engaging, interactive, and meaningful, fostering cognitive, social, motor, and emotional development. Implementation involves stimulating critical thinking and creativity, while evaluation is conducted through observation of children’s work, repetition of materials, and assessment of basic skills. Supporting factors include attractive playmat designs and peer interaction, whereas inhibiting factors involve limited media, space, and attention span. Solutions include adding media, providing personalized teacher guidance, and maintaining effective communication with parents. Additional Information: Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk kemampuan kognitif anak usia 5–6 tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi playmat edukatif dalam mendukung perkembangan kognitif anak di TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Pandeglang, mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan penghambat, serta merumuskan solusi agar media pembelajaran ini lebih efektif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan pembelajaran yang terstruktur dengan penggunaan playmat membuat proses belajar lebih menarik, interaktif, dan mendukung pengembangan kognitif, sosial, motorik, dan emosional anak. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan playmat melibatkan stimulasi berpikir kritis dan kreativitas anak. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pengamatan hasil karya, pengulangan materi, dan penilaian kemampuan dasar. Faktor pendukung meliputi desain playmat yang menarik dan interaksi sosial antar anak, sedangkan faktor penghambat mencakup keterbatasan media, ruang, dan fokus anak.
