Abstract
This study aims to describe the existence of the Silat Besi Tangerang community that continues to survive and be recognized within society, its role in strengthening civic culture, and the strategic efforts undertaken by the community, local government, and the surrounding society in preserving Silat Besi Tangerang. The research method employed is a descriptive qualitative study using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The informants in this study include administrators of the Silat Besi Tangerang Kumpi Jidan community, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Tangerang City, representatives of Koang Jaya Subdistrict, and local community members. The findings indicate that the Silat Besi Tangerang Kumpi Jidan community remains active through regular training and involvement in cultural activities. However, some segments of society, particularly the younger generation, show limited interest due to a stronger attraction to modern activities and other more popular martial arts. The Tangerang City Government has made efforts by providing training facilities and involving the community in cultural events, although specific operational funding support has not yet been allocated. Other obstacles include limited human resources, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and minimal digital promotion, indicating that Silat Besi Tangerang needs to be continuously strengthened to remain relevant and widely recognized in modern society.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keberadaan komunitas Silat Besi Tangerang yang masih bertahan dan diakui di tengah masyarakat, komunitas Silat Besi Tangerang yang berperan dalam memperkuat budaya kewarganegaraan (civic culture), serta upaya strategis yang dilakukan oleh komunitas, pemerintah daerah, dan masyarakat setempat dalam melestarikan Silat Besi Tangerang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini meliputi pengurus komunitas Silat Besi Tangerang Kumpi Jidan, Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Kota Tangerang, pihak Kelurahan Koang Jaya, serta masyarakat sekitar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunitas Silat Besi Tangerang Kumpi Jidan masih eksis melalui latihan rutin dan keterlibatan dalam kegiatan budaya. Namun, sebagian masyarakat terutama generasi muda kurang berminat mengikuti karena lebih tertarik pada aktivitas modern maupun bela diri lain yang lebih populer. Pemerintah Kota Tangerang telah melakukan upaya melalui dukungan fasilitas latihan dan partisipasi komunitas dalam acara budaya, meskipun dukungan dana operasional belum tersedia secara khusus. Hambatan lain juga ditemukan pada keterbatasan sumber daya manusia, sarana prasarana, serta minimnya promosi digital sehingga Silat Besi Tangerang perlu terus diperkuat agar tetap relevan dan dikenal luas di tengah masyarakat modern. | |||||||||
