Abstract

Critical thinking is an essential ability in the process of problem solving and decision making. This study aimed to determine the effect of implementing PjBL supported by a hydroponic cultivation e-module on students’ critical thinking skills. This research employed a quantitative approach used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The study was conducted from March 2025 to January 2026 at SMAN 5 Pandeglang, with the population consisting of all 12th-grade students taking Biology. The sample comprised two classes, XII 1 as the control class and XII 3 as the experimental class, selected through random sampling. The results showed that the average posttest score of the control class was 59.5, while the experimental class achieved an average score of 74.46. The hypothesis test analysis indicated that the implementation of PjBL assisted by a hydroponic cultivation e-module had a significant effect on high school students’ critical thinking skills.

Additional Information: Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan kemampuan yang penting dalam proses pemecahan masalah dan pengambilan keputusan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan PjBL berbantuan e-modul budidaya hidroponik terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode quasy eksperimen dan desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group design. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Maret 2025 – Januari 2026 di SMAN 5 Pandeglang dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas XII yang menerima mata pelajaran Biologi. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu XII 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XII 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang dipilih dengan metode random sampling. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa nilai rata-rata posttest kelas kontrol sebesar 59,5 dan kelas eksperimen sebesar 74,46. Hasil analisis uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan PjBL berbantuan e-modul budidaya hidroponik terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA.
