Abstract

This study aims to analyze the inner conflicts of the main characters in the film Agak Laen directed by Muhadkly Acho using Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalytic perspective and to examine its relevance as literary teaching material for senior high school students. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with observation and note taking techniques applied to dialogues, scenes, and character actions that represent inner conflict. The data are analyzed using Freud’s personality structure theory, which consists of the id, ego, and superego, to reveal the forms and dynamics of the characters’ psychological conflicts. The findings indicate that the inner conflicts in Agak Laen arise from the tension between the id’s instinctive drive to avoid danger and preserve self-interest and the superego’s moral demands, feelings of guilt, and social norms, while the ego struggles to mediate these opposing forces. These conflicts intensify throughout the narrative and are manifested through anxiety, hesitation, guilt, and emotional instability that significantly influence the characters’ behavior and decision-making processes. Based on these findings, Agak Laen is considered relevant as literary teaching material in senior high schools because it presents contextual inner conflicts, embodies humanistic and moral values, and supports students in developing critical thinking skills and psychological understanding of characters in literary learning.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konflik batin tokoh utama dalam film Agak Laen sutradara Muhadkly Acho berdasarkan perspektif psikoanalisis Sigmund Freud serta menelaah relevansinya sebagai bahan pembelajaran sastra di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data simak dan catat terhadap dialog, adegan, dan tindakan tokoh yang merepresentasikan konflik batin. Data dianalisis menggunakan teori struktur kepribadian Freud yang meliputi id, ego, dan superego untuk mengungkap bentuk konflik batin dan dinamika kejiwaan tokoh utama, yaitu Jegel, Bene, Boris, dan Oki. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konflik batin dalam film Agak Laen muncul akibat pertentangan antara dorongan naluriah id yang ingin menghindari bahaya dan mempertahankan diri dengan tekanan superego yang menghadirkan tuntutan moral, rasa bersalah, dan norma sosial, sementara ego berada dalam posisi tertekan dalam menengahi kedua struktur tersebut. Konflik batin yang dialami tokoh berkembang secara intens melalui kecemasan, kebimbangan, rasa bersalah, dan ketidakstabilan emosional yang memengaruhi perilaku serta pengambilan keputusan tokoh sepanjang alur cerita. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut, film Agak Laen memiliki relevansi yang kuat untuk dijadikan sebagai bahan ajar sastra di SMA karena menyajikan konflik batin yang kontekstual, mengandung nilai kemanusiaan dan moral, serta mampu membantu peserta didik memahami aspek psikologis tokoh dan mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran sastra.
