Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth and yield of 8 melon genotypes (Cucumis melo L.) in the lowlands. The design used for this study was a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD). This study consisted of 8 treatments, namely melon lines (G1, G2, G9, G20, G29, G30, G38, G42) with 3 replications. Each seed was planted as many as 10 plants in each treatment plot. So that the total number of plants observed was 240 plants and 3 plant samples were taken in each replication. The results showed that the 8 melon genotypes in the lowlands that were the best based on leaf length, leaf width, and stem diameter were G1, G2 and G30. The study of 8 melon genotypes in the lowlands that were based on melon flowering age, number of melon flower petals, and melon flower diameter were G1, G2 and G9. The 8 melon genotypes in the lowlands that were the best based on fruit weight, fruit length and fruit diameter are G1, G2 and G29. The 8 genotypes in the lowlands that were the best based on fruit flesh thickness, fruit cavity thickness, fruit skin thickness and sugar content are G1, G2 and G29.
