Abstract

IThis study aims to describe the process and results of instilling cooperative values in students through Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning in fourth grade at Karundang 1 Public Elementary School, Serang City, Banten. Character education, particularly the value of cooperation, is a fundamental aspect that needs to be integrated into learning to shape students' social attitudes from an early age. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The subjects were fourth grade students, and data were collected through participatory observation, interviews, and documentation techniques during the learning process. The results showed that instilling cooperative values through collaboratively designed IPAS learning provided a significant increase in students' cooperative attitudes. The ongoing process showed changes in student behavior towards a more positive direction. This was evident in the establishment of good interactions between students, the growth of mutual assistance, mutual support within the group, and increased obedience to shared rules made by the teacher. The conclusion of this study is that IPAS learning not only functions as a means of transferring knowledge, but also becomes an effective vehicle for instilling and developing cooperative values. Students not only understand the concept of cooperation theoretically, but are also able to apply it in social interactions in the school environment and are expected to be able to bring it into everyday life. Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan hasil penanaman nilai-nilai kerjasama pada siswa melalui pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) di kelas IV SD Negeri Karundang 1, Kota Serang, Banten. Pendidikan karakter, khususnya nilai kerjasama, merupakan aspek fundamental yang perlu diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran untuk membentuk sikap sosial siswa sejak dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV, dan data dikumpulkan melalui teknik observasi partisipatif, wawancara, dan dokumentasi selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penanaman nilai-nilai kerjasama melalui pembelajaran IPAS yang dirancang secara kolaboratif memberikan peningkatan yang signifikan terhadap sikap kerjasama siswa. Proses yang dilakukan secara berkelanjutan menunjukkan perubahan perilaku siswa ke arah yang lebih positif. Hal ini terbukti dari terjalinnya interaksi yang baik antar siswa, tumbuhnya sikap saling tolong-menolong, saling memberi dukungan dalam kelompok, serta meningkatnya ketaatan terhadap aturan bersama yang dibuat oleh guru. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran IPAS tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana transfer ilmu pengetahuan, tetapi juga menjadi wahana yang efektif untuk menanamkan dan mengembangkan nilai-nilai kerjasama. Siswa tidak hanya memahami konsep kerjasama secara teoretis, tetapi juga mampu menerapkannya dalam interaksi sosial di lingkungan sekolah dan diharapkan dapat membawanya ke dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
