Abstract

Numeracy skills are one of the six basic literacies that students need to master in the 21st century. However, based on data from the Banten Province Education Report Card, the numeracy skills of junior high school students are still relatively low. This condition indicates the need to strengthen and improve numeracy competencies through the application of learning media that is varied, appropriate to students' needs, and easy to understand. This study aims to produce a mobile learning application that is valid, practical, and effective in improving the numeracy skills of junior high school students. The type of research used is research and development (R&D) with the model used, namely ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The research subjects were seventh-grade students at MTsN 1 Kota Cilegon. Based on the assessment results from subject matter experts and media experts, the scores obtained were 78.56% and 80.28%, respectively, with valid criteria and suitable for testing with revisions. Meanwhile, the responses from teachers and students showed percentages of 97.22% and 83.39%, respectively, with very practical criteria. The results of the effectiveness test using the N-Gain test between the pretest and posttest showed a score of 0.57, which falls into the moderate category. When converted to a percentage, this means that the application of mobile learning is 57% effective in improving the numeracy skills of junior high school students.

Additional Information: Kemampuan numerasi merupakan salah satu dari enam literasi dasar yang perlu dikuasai siswa pada era abad ke-21. Namun, berdasarkan data Rapor Pendidikan Provinsi Banten, kemampuan numerasi siswa SMP masih tergolong rendah. Kondisi ini menunjukkan perlunya penguatan dan peningkatan kompetensi numerasi melalui penerapan media pembelajaran yang bervariasi, sesuai kebutuhan, dan mudah dipahami siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan aplikasi mobile learning yang valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi siswa SMP. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model yang digunakan, yaitu ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII MTsN 1 Kota Cilegon. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian dari validator ahli materi dan ahli media, diperoleh skor masing-masing sebesar 78,56% dan 80,28% dengan kriteria valid serta layak diuji dengan revisi. Sementara itu, tanggapan dari guru dan siswa menunjukkan persentase sebesar 97,22% dan 83,39% dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Hasil uji efektivitas menggunakan uji N-Gain antara pretest dan posttest menunjukkan skor sebesar 0,57 dan termasuk ke dalam kriteria sedang. Apabila diubah menjadi persen, maka sebesar 57% penerapan aplikasi mobile learning cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi siswa SMP.
