Abstract

This thesis discusses the adaptation patterns of traditional grocery store traders in facing modern retail competition in the village of Benda. This research aims to describe and identify the adaptation patterns carried out by traditional grocery store traders in facing competition with modern retail in Benda village. Apart from that, this research also focuses on analyzing the adaptation patterns carried out by grocery store traders in competing with modern retail. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach through observation, interviews and documentation techniques. This research uses Farancis Fukuyama's social capital theory. The location of the research was in Benda Village, Tangerang Regency. The results of this research show that there is a need for traditional grocery store traders to adapt to the existence of modern retail in Benda Village. For them, the existence of modern retail creates competition between traditional grocery stores and modern retail.

Additional Information: Skripsi ini membahas tentang pola adaptasi pedagang toko kelontong tradisional dalam menghadapi persaingan ritel modern di desa benda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan serta mengidentifikasi bagaimana pola adaptasi yang dilakukan pedagang toko kelontong tradisional dalam menghadapi persaingan dengan ritel modern di desa benda. Selain itu, juga penelitian ini fokus menganalisis pola adaptasi yang dilakukan para pedagang toko kelontong dalam bersaing dengan ritel modern. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif melalui teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori modal sosial Farancis Fukuyama. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di Desa benda Kabupaten Tangerang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan temuan, bahwa terdapat keharusan bagi pedagang toko kelontong tradisional untuk beradaptasi terhadap keberadaan ritel modern di Desa Benda. Bagi mereka keberadaan ritel modern ini menimbulkan persaingan antara toko kelontong tradisional dan ritel modern.
