Abstract

The objective of the research was to find out the influence of the Think Pair Share Technique on students' Reading Comprehension in the Eleventh Grade of SMK Negeri 1 Tanara. The subjects of this research were divided into two classes that were chosen by a nonrandom sampling type of convenience sampling. This study used a quasi experimental design using nonequivalent pre-test and post-test designs in collecting the data. A test was used. The test was given twice to the experimental and control groups. As a pre-test and post-test. To verify the hypotheses of the pre-test and post-test of the experimental and control groups. The data were analyzed by using an independent sample T-test. The result of the T-test showed that there were significant differences between those classes. The result showed that the count was 3.35 while the table was 1.67. it means that count≥ ttable. It could be seen that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H0)was rejected. This study suggests that the Think Pair Share Technique can make students more enthusiastic about learning and can increase interest in reading skills. It is recommended that teachers use the Think Pair Share Technique to help students understand reading texts and stimulate their analytical Skills

Additional Information: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh Teknik Think Pair Share terhadap Pemahaman Membaca siswa di Kelas Sebelas SMK Negeri 1 Tanara. Subjek penelitian ini dibagi menjadi dua kelas yang dipilih dengan jenis nonrandom sampling dari convenience sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi-eksperimental dengan menggunakan desain nonequivalent pre-test dan post-test dalam mengumpulkan data. Sebuah tes digunakan. Tes diberikan dua kali kepada kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Sebagai pre-test dan post-test. Untuk memverifikasi hipotesis dari pre-test dan post-test dari kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-T sampel independen. Hasil uji-T menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelas tersebut. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa hitungnya adalah 3,35 sedangkan tabelnya adalah 1,67. Itu berarti hitung ≥ t tabel. Dapat dilihat bahwa hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa Teknik Think Pair Share dapat membuat siswa lebih antusias belajar dan meningkatkan minat membaca. Disarankan agar guru menggunakan Teknik Think Pair Share untuk membantu siswa memahami teks bacaan dan merangsang kemampuan analisis mereka.
