Abstract
This research aims to determine the effect of te guieded inquiry learning model on student’s cognitive abilities in class X natural science class X SMAN 1 Waringinkurung biodiversity material. This research is a quasi-esxperimental research metod that uses a pretest- posttest control group design. The population in this study were taken using random sampling. Data collection technique use multiple choice tests to measure cognitive abilities and observation seets to measures te implementation of learning activities. Te results of the research showed that te average pretest score in the experimental class and control class was 44, te posttest in te experimental class and control class was 74. Te result of the independent ypotesis test simple t test on posttest cognitive abilities obtained a significance value of 0,857>0,05 which means tat Ho is accepted, so that the guieded inquiry model in classroom learning as no effect on students cognitive abilities in the biodiversity for class X science at SMAN 1 Waringinkurung.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing (guided inquiry) terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa pada materi keanekaragaman hayati kelas X IPA SMA Negeri 1 Waringinkurung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian metode kuasi eksperimen yang menggunakan desain pretest - post-test control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Waringinkurung, untuk sampel kelas X IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Sampel diambil menggunakan random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes berupa pilihan ganda untuk mengukur kemampuan kognitif dan lembar observasi untuk mengukur pelaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, nilai rata-rata pretest pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol memperoleh nilai 44, post-test kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol memperoleh nilai 74. Hasil uji hipotesis independen simple t test pada kemampuan kognitif post-test diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,857 > 0,05 yang berarti H0 diterima, sehingga model pembelajaran inkuri terbimbing dalam pembelajaran di kelas tidak berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa pada materi keanekaragaman hayati kelas X IPA SMA Negeri 1 Waringinkurung.
