Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of firm size and capital structure on firm value with profitability as an intervening variable in transportation sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2016–2023 period. The study is motivated by business phenomena in the research topic, inconsistencies between empirical findings and theoretical frameworks, and research gaps identified in previous studies. This is a quantitative study using secondary data obtained from financial statements. The population consists of transportation companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, with 12 companies selected from a total of 88 through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using path analysis and the Sobel test. The results show that: (1) firm size has a negative and significant effect on firm value, (2) capital structure has a positive and significant effect on firm value, (3) firm size has a negative and significant effect on profitability, (4) capital structure has a negative and insignificant effect on profitability, (5) profitability has a negative and insignificant effect on firm value, (6) profitability mediates the relationship between firm size and firm value, and (7) profitability does not mediate the relationship between capital structure and firm value.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh ukuran perusahaan dan struktur modal terhadap nilai perusahaan dengan profitabilitas sebagai variabel intervening pada perusahaan sub sektor transportasi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2016 – 2023. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena terdapat fenomena bisnis pada topik penelitian, inkonsistensi hasil dari perhitungan data empiris dengan kajian teoritis, dan penelitian sebelumnya yang menimbulkan research gap. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan data sekunder berupa laporan keuangan. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan transportasi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia dan data sampel sesuai dengan kriteria yang dibutuhkan dalam penelitian sebanyak 12 perusahaan dari total 88 populasi melalui metode purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah path analysis dan sobel test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Ukuran perusahaan berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap Nilai Perusahaan, (2) Struktur modal berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Nilai Perusahaan, (3) Ukuran perusahaan berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap Profitabilitas, (4) Struktur modal berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap Profitabilitas, (5) Profitabilitas berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap nilai perusahaan, (6) Profitabilitas mampu memediasi hubungan ukuran perusahaan terhadap nilai perusahaan, (7) Profitabilitas tidak mampu memediasi hubungan struktur modal terhadap nilai perusahaan. | |||||||||
