Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of different learning approaches in improving the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Sindang Mandi. The study was conducted in six meetings, including one pretest, four learning sessions, and one posttest, involving all fifth-grade students. The method used was an experiment, with data collection through tests and non-tests. The research subjects consisted of two classes, namely class 5A as the experimental class using the “everyone is a teacher” strategy and class 5B as the control class using the lecture method. The research instrument was an essay test consisting of 10 questions. The results showed that students' critical thinking skills developed more through the application of the “everyone is a teacher” technique compared to the lecture method.

Additional Information: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas pendekatan pembelajaran yang berbeda dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V di SDN Sindang Mandi. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam enam pertemuan, meliputi satu pretest, empat sesi pembelajaran, dan satu posttest, dengan melibatkan seluruh siswa kelas V. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen, dengan pengumpulan data melalui tes dan non-tes. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas dua kelas, yakni kelas 5A sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan strategi “everyone is a teacher” dan kelas 5B sebagai kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode ceramah. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes esai sebanyak 10 soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa lebih berkembang melalui penerapan teknik “everyone is a teacher” dibandingkan dengan metode ceramah.
