Abstract

This study aims to formulate a development strategy for vanilla farming in Mancak District, Serang Regency, Banten Province. Although vanilla is known for its high economic value in the global market, vanilla farming in Mancak District has not developed optimally. The main challenges include limited production, lack of financial record-keeping, low technological innovation, and external constraints such as unpredictable weather and insufficient government support. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE), External Factor Evaluation (EFE), Internal-External (IE) matrix, and SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis. The analysis results indicate that vanilla farming falls into quadrant I of the IE matrix, with an IFE score of 3.35 and an EFE score of 3.34, indicating a "grow and build" strategic position. This study is expected to serve as a reference to enhance the effectiveness and competitiveness of vanilla farming in Mancak District in a sustainable manner.
