Abstract
Education today requires principals who are competent in managing schools and improving teacher performance, although teachers are very important, principals also have a very crucial role in the success of teacher performance. The objectives of the study are to (1) Know how the profile of the managerial competence of school principals in Muncang Subdistrict; (2) Know how the profile of teacher performance in Muncang Subdistrict; (3) Test the correlation between the managerial competence of school principals on the performance of elementary school teachers in Muncang Subdistrict. This research uses Quantitative research method with correlation analysis. The research sample amounted to 40 people, consisting of 20 principals and 20 civil servant and non-civil servant teachers in public elementary schools in Muncang District. Non-test data collection techniques, in the form of a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques include descriptive analysis and hypothesis testing using the Spearman Rank Correlation test. The results of this study indicate that the managerial competence of elementary school principals in Muncang District is generally in the moderate category (average 124), and teacher performance in elementary schools in Muncang District is classified as moderate (average 116). There is a positive and strong correlation (0.89) between principals' managerial competence and teachers' performance in primary schools in Muncang sub-district. This means that the higher the principal's managerial competence, the higher the teacher performance. This finding underlines the importance of developing principals' managerial competence as one of the strategies to improve education quality through improving teachers' performance. This shows that the managerial competence of school principals is related to the performance of teachers in the schools they lead.

| Additional Information: | Pendidikan saat ini membutuhkan kepala sekolah yang kompeten dalam mengelola sekolah dan meningkatkan kinerja guru, meskipun guru sangat penting, kepala sekolah juga memiliki peran yang sangat krusial dalam keberhasilhan kinerja guru. Tujuan dari penelitian yaitu untuk (1) Mengetahui bagaimana profil kompetensi manajeriaal kpala sekolah di Kecamatan Muncang; (2) Mengetahui bagaimana profil kinerja guru di Kecamatan Muncang; (3) Menguji korelasi antara kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Muncang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Kuantitatif dengan analisis korelasi. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 40 orang, terdiri dari 20 orang kepala sekolah dan 20 orang guru PNS dan Non PNS yang ada di SD Negeri di Kecamatan Muncang. Teknik pengumpulan data secara non tes, berupa angket (kuesioner). Teknis analisi data meliputi analisis deskriftif dan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji Korelasi Rank Spearman Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Muncang secara umum berada pada kategori sedang (rata-rata 124), dan kinerja guru di SD Kecamatan Muncang tergolong sedang (rata-rata 116). Terdapat korelasi positif dan kuat (0.89) antara kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah dan kinerja guru di SD Kecamatan Muncang. Artinya, semakin tinggi kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah, semakin tinggi pula kinerja guru. Temuan ini menggaris bawahi pentingnya pengembangan kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah sebagai salah satu strategi untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan melalui peningkatan kinerja guru. Hal ini menujukkan bahwa kompetensi manajerial yang dimiliki oleh kepala sekolah, memiliki keterkaitan dengan kinerja guru di sekolah yang mereka pimpin. | |||||||||
