Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students' critical thinking skills in biodiversity material for grade X. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The subjects were students of grade X at SMAN 15 Tangerang, selected using random sampling. The experimental class was taught using the PBL model, while the control class used the scientific approach. Data were collected through tests and non-test instruments, and analyzed using an independent t-test with a significance value of 0.001 (<0.05). The results showed that the PBL model significantly affected students' critical thinking skills in learning biodiversity.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi keanekaragaman hayati kelas X. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experiment dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMAN 15 Tangerang. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yang dipilih dengan teknik random sampling, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model PBL dan kelas kontrol dengan pendekatan saintifik. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan non tes, uji signifikansi menggunakan uji t dengan nilai signifikansi 0,001 (<0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, terdapat pengaruh model PBL terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi keanekaragaman hayati.
