Abstract

Attendance is an important activity in employee work routines to prove attendance and support productivity, especially in government agencies that focus on public services. Cibungur Village Office, Sukaresmi Subdistrict, Pandeglang Regency, still uses a paper-based manual attendance system, which causes obstacles such as slow recording of entry and exit hours, potential data loss, difficulty in recapitulation, and risk of attendance fraud. This research aims to design and develop a website-based employee attendance system that utilizes selfie photos and Global Positioning System (GPS) locking to ensure the accuracy and validity of attendance data. System development uses the Agile method with the stages of planning, design, implementation, and testing. The system design is done using the Unified Modeling Language (UML), while the development uses PHP technology, Laravel framework, and MySQL database. System testing is carried out using the blackbox testing method to ensure all functions run properly, as well beta testing to obtain feedback regarding the ease of use of the attendance system. The results showed that the website-based attendance system with selfie photos and GPS lock was able to improve the efficiency of the attendance process and facilitate reporting at the Cibungur Village Office. This system is expected to increase the efficiency of employee attendance management and reduce the risk of data loss and recording errors that often occur in manual systems. In the future, this system can be further developed by adding a national holiday schedule feature, automatic notification of absence status, and employee daily activity report features.
