Abstract

Every year, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University experiences an increase in the number of students from 2020 to 2024 with an average increase of 1,823 students, and along with the increase in the number of students, it will affect the growth of transportation. The solution to the transportation problems that occur can be done by knowing the characteristics of students in making travel movements, especially in terms of preferences for choosing the mode of transportation to be used. The purpose of this study is to obtain the characteristics of the choice of transportation modes used by students to campus and to obtain a mode choice model that can explain the probability of students in choosing a mode of transportation, when viewed in terms of transportation costs, travel time, comfort, security and safety. The method used in the analysis is the Stated Preference technique and the binomial logit model using SPSS software version 29. The results of the data analysis that the majority of respondents (69%) are male, with a dominant age range of 18-20 years (55%). Most students travel within 0-20 minutes (62%), and the most frequently used mode of transportation is motorbikes (70%). Time factor is the main consideration (47%) in choosing a mode of transportation, followed by cost (22%), comfort (22%), and safety and security (9%).
