Abstract

This research was aimed to know the effect of the treatment of young coconut water concentration and soaking time on seed viability, growth and yield of expired curly red chili (Capsicum annuum L.). This research was conducted in the field of Pekopen Village, Tambun Selatan, Bekasi, West Java, from July until December in 2024. This research used a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) consisting of two factors. The first factor was the concentration (K) which consists of 4 levels, namely distilled water control, 10% concentration, 15% concentration, 20% concentration. The second factor was Soaking Time (L) which consists of 3 levels, namely for 3 hours, 6 hours, and 9 hours. The results showed that 15% young coconut water concentration gave the best effect on the parameters of germination power (48.89%), maximum growth potential (53.89%), growth speed (10.75%/ethmal), plant height 1 Week After Planting (WAP) (18.09 cm), plant height 2 WAP (28.68 cm), plant height 3 WAP (44.35 cm), plant height 4 WAP (64.63 cm), flowering age (27.59 days), fruit weight per plant (38.15 g), and number of fruits per plant (17.93 fruits). Soaking time of 6 hours gave the best effect on the parameters of germination power (42.50%), maximum growth potential (48.33%), growth speed (9.66%/etm), plant height 1 week (16.55 cm), plant height 3 weeks (41.23 cm), plant height 4 weeks (60.97 cm), fruit weight per plant (32.14 g), and number of fruits per plant (15.11 fruits). There was an interaction in the treatment of young coconut water concentration with the length of soaking on the parameters of germination, maximum growth potential, growth speed, fruit weight per plant, and the number of fruits per plant.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan konsentrasi air kelapa muda dan lama perendaman terhadap terhadap viabilitas benih, pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman cabai merah keriting (Capsicum annuum L.) kedaluwarsa. Penelitian dilaksanakan di lahan Kampung Pekopen, Kecamatan Tambun Selatan, Kabupaten Bekasi, Jawa Barat, pada bulan Juli sampai Desember tahun 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri atas dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah Konsentrasi Air Kelapa Muda (K) yang terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu aquades/kontrol, konsentrasi 10%, konsentrasi 15%, konsentrasi 20% dan faktor kedua adalah Lama Perendaman (L) yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu selama 3 jam, 6 jam, 9 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsentrasi air kelapa muda 15% memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap parameter daya berkecambah (48,89%), potensi tumbuh maksimum (53,89%), kecepatan tumbuh (10,75 %/etmal), tinggi tanaman 1 MST (18,09 cm), tinggi tanaman 2 MST (28,68 cm), tinggi tanaman 3 MST (44,35 cm), tinggi tanaman 4 MST (64,63 cm), umur berbunga (27,59 hari), bobot buah per tanaman (38,15 g), dan jumlah buah per tanaman (17,93 buah). Lama perendaman 6 jam memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap parameter daya berkecambah (42,50%), potensi tumbuh maksimum (48,33%), kecepatan tumbuh (9,66 %/etmal), tinggi tanaman 1 MST (16,55 cm), tinggi tanaman 3 MST (41,23 cm), tinggi tanaman 4 MST (60,97 cm), bobot buah per tanaman (32,14 g), dan jumlah buah per tanaman (15,11 buah). Terdapat interaksi pada perlakuan konsentrasi air kelapa muda dengan lama perendaman terhadap parameter daya berkecambah, potensi tumbuh maksimum, kecepatan tumbuh, bobot buah per tanaman, dan jumlah buah per tanaman.
