Abstract
This study compares the bearing capacity and settlement of mini piles between analytical and numerical methods, validated by PDA (Pile Driving Analyzer) tests and CAPWAP (Case Pile Wave Analysis Program) analysis, which aims to identify the method that most closely approximates in-situ measurements. Three piles were examined, PC1A7-NO61, PC1B1-NO43, and PC1C5-NO17, all with uniform dimensions of 30 x 30 centimeters and a total pile length of 9 meters. Overall results indicate that, for the single pile bearing capacity, the Schmertmann and Nottingham methods yielded the closest bearing capacity estimates, with deviations of 21,179%, -8,827% and 11,478% from PDA test results and 14,865%, -13,726% and -11,737% from CAPWAP analysis results. For the single pile settlement, the Meyerhof empirical method is most closely matched CAPWAP analysis results, with differences for each pile of 7,537 mm, 5,881 mm dan 7,135 mm. These methods were selected because of their compliance with design criteria and had lower deviations, and did not underestimate the in-situ measurements. Variations in bearing capacity estimates may occur due to differences in the reduction factor values used. Meanwhile, differences in settlement calculation results are caused by the complexity of the analysis. The Meyerhof method is an empirical formula with simple assumptions that relies on limited parameters. On the other hand, the finite element method models soil conditions in greater detail. However, the lack of soil parameter data and the use of correlation values may reduce the accuracy of the actual soil parameters in the field. These differences highlight the importance of selecting an appropriate method and validating it through field tests such as the PDA test to ensure the reliability of the design.
