Abstract
This research aimed to evaluate the effect of applying the Socratic Method based on the Padlet platform on students' critical thinking abilities. This research useda quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, pretest-posttest controlgroup type. The research subjects wereclass IX students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Tangerang. The instruments used wereessay questions to measure critical thinking skills and observation sheets to assess the implementation of learning. The results ofthe analysis show that there wasa significant difference between the posttest scores of the experimental group and the control group, which is indicated by a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Apart from that, the average N-Gain score achieved by the experimental group was 0.8, which is in the high category. These findings indicate that the integration of the Socratic Method with Padlet can significantly improve students' critical thinking abilities. Thus, this learning method is worthy of consideration as an alternative strategy in the learning process, especially in developing critical thinking skills at the secondary education level.

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain kuasi-eksperimen tipe pretest-posttestcontrol group. Subjek penelitian mencakup peserta didik kelas IX di SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Tangerang. Instrumen yang digunakan mencakup soal uraian untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis serta lembar observasi guna menilai keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara nilai posttest kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol, sebagaimana ditunjukkan oleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,05). Di samping itu, skor rata-rata N-Gain yang dicapai oleh kelompok eksperimen sebesar 0,8 tergolong dalam kategori tinggi. Hasil temuan ini mengisyaratkan bahwa integrasi Socratic Method dengan Padlet secara signifikan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Dengan demikian, metode pembelajaran tersebut layak dipertimbangkan sebagai salah satu strategi alternatif dalam proses pembelajaran, khususnya dalam pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada jenjang pendidikan menengah. | |||||||||
