Abstract

The development of transportation systems in urban areas of Indonesia has had a significant impact on community mobility, including that of university students. Issues in selecting transportation modes to campus often relate to limited options and inadequate infrastructure. This study aims to identify travel characteristics and develop a transportation mode choice model for students commuting to Ciwaru and Kepandean Campuses. The variables analyzed include cost, travel time, comfort, safety, and security, using the binomial logit method. The results show that travel time is the dominant factor influencing mode choice, with motorcycles being the most preferred mode. Based on fare attributes, the probability of students at Ciwaru Campus choosing private transportation is 57.4%, while public transportation accounts for 42.6%. At Kepandean Campus, public transportation is preferred by 54.4% of students, and private transportation by 45.6%. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for developing a more efficient and user-friendly campus transportation system.
