Abstract
Income distribution inequality and economic growth are two interrelated issues in the context of national development. Although Indonesia has recorded stable economic growth over the past few decades regional disparities remain a persistent challenge influenced by diverse geographic and socio-economic conditions across provinces. This study aims to analyze the impact of various economic and social indicators on income inequality and to evaluate the role of economic growth in promoting a more equitable distribution of welfare. The research utilizes panel data from 33 provinces in Indonesia over a specific period. Income inequality is used as the dependent variable, while the independent variables include Village Funds, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), Average Years of Schooling, government expenditure in the health sector, the Human Development Index (HDI), and road infrastructure. The analysis is conducted using panel data regression, with model selection based on specification tests to determine the most appropriate estimation approach.
