Abstract

One way to control surface flow is to increase the infiltration capacity of the soil. Information on the rate of infiltration is urgently needed to determine appropriate conservation measures, such as the construction of infiltration wells or the arrangement of drainage systems. Thus, it is necessary to conduct an analysis related to the infiltration ability on the land of Campus B untirta Cilegon in supporting groundwater conservation efforts. This study aims to determine the size of the infiltration capacity and obtain the development of an abstraction model based on Horton's infiltration equation on native soil at Campus B, Faculty of Engineering, Untirta Cilegon. This study was carried out by measuring the infiltration rate using a double ring infiltrometer, testing soil characteristics, and analyzing the calculation of the infiltration of the Horton method. The results of the study showed that the value of infiltration capacity in the original soil at Campus B, Faculty of Engineering, Untirta Cilegon, was 1 cm/hour. Inundation begins when the intensity of rainfall exceeds the soil infiltration capacity of 1 cm/hour. I2 highest = 14.80 cm/h (170th minute) with the highest inundation of 2.3 cm (180th minute), I10 highest = 25.41 cm/h (170th minute) with the highest inundation of 4.07 cm (180th minute). I25 highest = 30.75 cm/h (170th minute) with a maximum inundation of 4.96 cm (180th minute).
