Abstract

Humans often keep pets to relieve boredom, eliminate monotony, and develop a sense of responsibility. Pets, especially birds, require food and water. As pet owners, we must understand the feeding schedule for birds. Feeding and watering birds often take time and effort from the owners. In this study, an automatic bird feeding and watering system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) has been developed using a microcontroller connected to the Blynk application. Result of system testing, the system operated according to the designed program. The average detected feed distance difference was 1.99 cm with an average error of 1.46%, while the average water distance difference was 0.19 cm with an average error of 0.03%. The automatic system can move the servo to open the feed container and activate the water pump according to a predetermined schedule. In manual mode, bird owners can control the feeding and watering process by pressing the available buttons on the Blynk dashboard.
