Abstract

Water is a fundamental factor in fish farming, serving as the primary habitat for aquatic life. Maintaining water quality is crucial for supporting the growth and survival of ornamental freshwater fish, which are popular both in Indonesia and internationally. However, water turbidity caused by uneaten feed and fish waste can negatively impact water aesthetics and overall aquatic health. This study aims to design and implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based water quality monitoring system and an automatic fish feeding mechanism. The system integrates three types of filter media (pumice stone, ginger coral, and zeolite) and utilizes the pH-4502C sensor, DS18B20 temperature sensor, and turbidity sensor to monitor key water parameters. Testing results demonstrated high accuracy with an average error rate of 1.34% for temperature, 1.05% for pH level, and 0.06% for turbidity. Among the tested filter media, pumice stone showed the best performance with an average turbidity of 6.5 NTU, pH of 7.0, and temperature of 28.46°C. The system also employs a servo motor and Real-Time Clock (RTC) module to automate feeding at scheduled times (08:00, 13:00, and 16:00). Overall, the proposed system effectively monitors aquarium water quality and reduces feed waste. Furthermore, it offers remote control capabilities via an Android-based application, enabling efficient and sustainable fish farming management. Additional Information: Air merupakan faktor utama dalam pemeliharaan ikan karena berfungsi sebagai habitat hidup. Kualitas air yang baik mendukung pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup ikan, terutama ikan hias air tawar yang populer di Indonesia. Kekeruhan air akibat sisa pakan dan kotoran ikan menjadi permasalahan utama dalam pemeliharaan ikan di akuarium. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengimplementasikan sistem monitoring kualitas air berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) serta sistem pemberian pakan ikan otomatis. Sistem ini menggunakan tiga jenis media filter berbeda (batu apung, karang jahe, dan zeolit) dan dilengkapi dengan sensor pH-4502C, sensor suhu DS18B20, serta sensor turbidity untuk memantau kualitas air. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan tingkat akurasi tinggi dengan rata-rata error 1,34% untuk suhu, 1,05% untuk pH, dan 0,06% untuk kekeruhan. Media filter batu apung menunjukkan performa terbaik dengan nilai rata-rata kekeruhan 6,5 NTU, pH 7, dan suhu 28,46°C. Sistem juga dilengkapi motor servo dan RTC untuk penjadwalan pemberian pakan otomatis pada pukul 08.00, 13.00, dan 16.00. Secara keseluruhan, sistem yang dikembangkan mampu memantau kualitas air dan mengurangi pemborosan pakan secara efektif serta dapat dikendalikan jarak jauh melalui perangkat Android.
