Abstract
Introduction According to Badan Pusat Statistik, the prevalence of women of reproductive age who are married and using contraception in Serang City is 53,34%, placing Serang City as the third lowest in Banten Province. In 2023, Kasemen District was recorded as the district with the lowest number of new family planning acceptors in Serang City, only reaching 58% of the target. One of the main challenges of family planning implementation in Indonesia is the high rate of unmet need for contraception, of which is the result of non-compliance to contraceptive use. The impact of non-compliance in contraceptive use is that it reduces the effectiveness of contraception so that contraceptive failure may result in unwanted pregnancies that can increase maternal and child mortality. The level of knowledge may play a role in compliance with contraceptive use in women of childbearing age. This study was conducted to analyze the relationship between knowledge of contraception and compliance to contraceptive use among women of childbearing age in Kasemen District, Serang City. Methods The research design used was observational analytic research with a cross-sectional approach. The sample size was 36 women of childbearing age in Kasemen District with stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a contraceptive knowledge questionnaire that had been tested for its validity and reliability, as well as the SDKI 2017 WUS questionnaire in the Contraception section. The data analysis technique was the Fisher’s Exact test. Result The results showed that 58,3% of respondents had good knowledge, and 41,7% had poor knowledge. A total of 72,2% of respondents were compliant and 27,8% of respondents were not compliant with using contraception. Fisher’s Exact test results obtained a value of p = 0,26 (p>0,05). Conclusion The conclusion in this study is that there is no relationship between contraceptive knowledge and compliance with contraceptive use in women of childbearing age in Kasemen District. This could be due to many other factors that may influence compliance to contraceptive use, such as the role of family planning cadres and access to free family planning methods.

| Additional Information: | Latar Belakang Menurut Badan Pusat Statistik, prevalensi Wanita Usia Subur (WUS) yang berstatus kawin dan menggunakan kontrasepsi di Kota Serang ialah 53,54%, menempatkan Kota Serang di posisi ketiga terendah di Provinsi Banten. Pada tahun 2023, Kecamatan Kasemen tercatat sebagai kecamatan dengan akseptor baru Keluarga Berencana (KB) terendah di Kota Serang, yaitu hanya mencapai 58% dari target yang ditetapkan. Salah satu tantangan utama pelaksanaan KB di Indonesia adalah tingginya angka unmet need kontrasepsi, salah satunya akibat dari ketidakpatuhan penggunaan KB. Dampak dari ketidakpatuhan dalam menggunakan kontrasepsi adalah menurunkan efektivitas kerja dari kontrasepsi sehingga terjadi kegagalan kontrasepsi sampai dapat terjadi kehamilan tidak diinginkan yang dapat meningkatkan angka kematian ibu dan anak. Tingkat pengetahuan WUS mengenai kontrasepsi dapat menjadi salah satu faktor yang mungkin berperan dalam kepatuhan penggunaan kontrasepsi pada WUS. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara pengetahuan mengenai kontrasepsi dengan kepatuhan penggunaan kontrasepsi pada Wanita Usia Subur (WUS) di Kecamatan Kasemen, Kota Serang. Metode Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Besar sampel adalah 36 Wanita Usia Subur di Kecamatan Kasemen dengan pengambilan sampel secara stratified random sampling. Data diambil menggunakan kuesioner pengetahuan yang telah dilakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitas, serta kuesioner SDKI 2017 WUS bagian Kontrasepsi. Teknik analisis data adalah dengan uji Fisher Exact. Hasil Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa responden berpengetahuan baik sebanyak 58,3%, dan berpengetahuan kurang baik 41,7%. Sebanyak 72,2% responden patuh dan 27,8% responden tidak patuh menggunakan kontrasepsi. Hasil uji statistik Fisher Exact didapatkan nilai p = 0,26 (p>0,05). Kesimpulan Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah tidak terdapat hubungan antara pengetahuan kontrasepsi dengan kepatuhan penggunaan kontrasepsi pada WUS di Kecamatan Kasemen. Hal ini dapat disebabkan karena banyak faktor-faktor lain yang mungkin berpengaruh terhadap kepatuhan penggunaan kontrasepsi, seperti peran kader KB dan akses layanan KB gratis. | |||||||||
