Abstract
Film is one of the mass communication media often used to represent everyday life. The film Dua Hati Biru portrays the complexity of family life and the role of a young mother in building her family. A mother is often seen as the pillar of the family, responsible for child-rearing, household management, and emotional support. The aim of this research is to explore how the figure of a mother is represented in Indonesian films, specifically in Dua Hati Biru. This study is qualitative in nature and employs Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis, which involves examining denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings. The research findings show that, at the denotative level, the mother as the pillar of the family in Dua Hati Biru is portrayed as a warm figure who always provides the best for her family when her child is in trouble, as a hardworking individual, and as a symbol of maturity within the family. At the connotative level, the mother is depicted as the family manager, a protector of her children, and someone who is full of sacrifice. Mythically, the mother as the pillar of the family is seen as the center of life that must be respected.

| Additional Information: | Film merupakan salah satu media komunikasi massa yang seringkali digunakan untuk merepresentasikan kehidupan sehari-hari. Film Dua Hati Biru memperlihatkan kehidupan keluarga yang kompleks dan peran ibu muda dalam membangun keluarganya, ibu sering dianggap sebagai pilar keluarga yang bertanggung jawab atas pengasuhan anak, manajemen rumah tangga, dan dukungan emosional. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana sosok ibu direpresentasikan dalam film Indonesia, khususnya film Dua Hati Biru. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan analisis semiotika Roland Barthes, yaitu menganalisis makna denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Hasil penellitian menggambarkan ibu sebagai pilar keluarga dalam film Dua Hati Biru secara denotasi adalah seorang ibu akan selalu menjadi sosok yang hangat untuk keluarganya dengan memberikan yang terbaik ketika anaknya bermasalah, ibu adalah sosok pekerja keras, serta menjadi simbol dan kematangan keluarga. Secara konotasi ibu sebagai pilar keluarga adalah sosok manajer dalam keluarga, sosok pelindung anak, serta sosok yang penuh pengorbanan. Secara mitos ibu sebagai pilar keluarga adalah pusat kehidupan yang harus dihargai. | ||||||
