Abstract

Writing a speech text is one of the skills that is often considered difficult, not mastered, and less interesting to learn. As a result, students tend to be unfocused and unable to write a good speech text. This study is intended to analyze the influence of learning media based on the website genially and carrd.co, as well as the differences in influence between the two media on the skills of writing speech texts of class VIII students. This quantitative study uses an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique uses a simple random sampling technique, and class VIII-A is selected as the experimental class and class VIII-C as the control class. The data obtained are in the form of pretest and posttest results of writing speech texts with statistical calculations using SPSS version 25. The results of this study show a difference in the average pretest score of 52.93 and posttest of 82.60 with an increase of 29.67 points on learning media based on the website genially. There is also a difference in the results of the pretest with an average score of 56.07 and posttest of 73.27 with an increase of 17.2 points on learning based on the website carrd.co. So it can be concluded that the genially website-based learning media is more influential than the carrd.co website-based media in improving students' speech writing skills.

Additional Information: Menulis teks pidato menjadi salah satu keterampilan yang seringkali dianggap sulit, tidak dikuasai, dan kurang menarik untuk dipelajari. Akibatnya, siswa cenderung tidak fokus dan tidak mampu menulis teks pidato dengan baik. Penelitian ini dimakasudkan guna menganalisis pengaruh media pembelajaran berbasis website genially dan carrd.co, serta perbedaan pengaruh antara kedua media tersebut pada keterampilan menulis teks pidato siswa kelas VIII. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel mempergunakan teknik simple random sampling, serta terpilih kelas VIII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII-C sebagai kelas kontrol. Data yang didapat berupa hasil pretest dan posttest menulis teks pidato dengan perhitungan statistik menggunakan bantuan SPSS versi 25. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan perbedaan skor rata-rata pretest senilai 52,93 dan posttest senilai 82,60 dengan peningkatan senilai 29,67 poin pada media pembelajaran berbasis website genially. Juga adanya perbedaan hasil pretest dengan skor rata-rata senilai 56,07 dan posttest senilai 73,27 dengan peningkatan senilai 17,2 poin pada pembelajaran berbasis website carrd.co. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis website genially lebih berpengaruh dibandingkan media berbasis website carrd.co dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks pidato siswa.
