Abstract
The development of industrial automation technology demands increased time efficiency in the production process. One of them is the sorting washer system in Workcell 34-120 which requires real-time monitoring. The problem faced is the integration between two different brands of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). This study aims to design a monitoring system based on Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) to monitor the performance of the sorting washer machine automatically. The system is controlled by Mitsubishi FX2N and Siemens S7-200 PLC connected to the Human Machine Interface (HMI) using WinCC Flexible 2008. Communication is done through KepserverEX V6 for Mitsubishi PLC and S7200.OPCServer for Siemens PLC. The system collects input and output data, the number of washers detected, and the operational status of the machine. The implementation results show that the system successfully monitors the movement and position of objects in real-time via HMI, controls the start or stop function, and reduces the need for manual monitoring by the operator. In addition, the system is able to integrate two different PLC well. Controls the selection of metallic and non-metallic materials, and provides interactive data visualization with the ability to save and export data to Excel format.
