Abstract
This study aims to describe the influence of the ATM method (Observe, Imitate, Modify), the demonstration method, and the differences in the influence of both on the poetry reading skills of class X students of MAN 4 Pandeglang. This study uses a quantitative approach to the experimental method with a true experiment design (pretest-posttest control group design). This study used all 7 classes of class X MAN 4 Pandeglang as the population, with samples taken as many as 2 classes (each 30 students) determined by the random sampling method. The results showed that the experimental class using the ATM method experienced an increase in average value from 56 to 80,5 (difference 24,5), with significant statistical analysis results (tₕcalculated = 16,69 > tₜtable = 2,045). The control class using the demonstration method also increased from 55,2 to 70,7 (difference 15,5), with significant results (tₕcalculated = 7,64 > tₜtable = 2.045). The comparison of the posttest results showed a difference of 9,8 points, where the average score of the experimental class exceeded the KKM of 75, while the control class did not. Based on these results, it can be concluded that both methods have an effect on students' poetry reading skills, but the effect of the ATM method is more significant in improving students' poetry reading skills.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh metode ATM (Amati, Tiru, Modifikasi), metode demonstrasi, serta perbedaan pengaruh keduanya terhadap keterampilan membaca puisi peserta didik kelas X MAN 4 Pandeglang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif metode eksperimen dengan desain true experiment (pretest-posttest control group design). Penelitian ini menggunakan seluruh kelas X MAN 4 Pandeglang yang berjumlah 7 kelas sebagai populasi, dengan sampel yang diambil sebanyak 2 kelas (masing-masing 30 peserta didik) yang ditentukan dengan metode random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan metode ATM mengalami peningkatan rata-rata nilai dari 56 menjadi 80,5 (selisih 24,5), dengan hasil analisis statistik yang signifikan (tₕitung = 16,69 > tₜabel = 2,045). Kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode demonstrasi juga meningkat dari 55,2 menjadi 70,7 (selisih 15,5), dengan hasil signifikan (tₕitung = 7,64 > tₜabel = 2,045). Perbandingan hasil posttest menunjukkan selisih 9,8 poin, di mana nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen melampaui KKM 75, sementara kelas kontrol tidak. Berdasrkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kedua metode tersebut berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan membaca puisi peserta didik, akan tetapi pengaruh metode ATM lebih signifikan terhadap peningkatan keterampilan membaca puisi peserta didik. | |||||||||
