Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the Open-Ended model on Numeracy Skills in terms of Self-Confidence. This research is based on the results of the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM), which shows that the numeracy skills of Indonesian students still need improvement, as well as the PISA 2022 data that indicates low results in numeracy. The method in this research uses a quantitative approach with a nonequivalent control group design quasi-experimental method conducted at SMAN 2 Bayah in the 2024/2025 academic year. The population in this study consists of all tenth-grade students from the school, and the research sample consists of one experimental class and one control class selected using the cluster random sampling technique. In the experimental class, open-ended learning was applied, while in the control class, PBL learning was applied. Data collection was carried out using test techniques to measure numeracy skills and non-test techniques to measure students' self-confidence. The instruments used in this study were validated by two experts and their validity was proven. The effect of the open-ended learning model on numeracy skills in terms of high school students' self-confidence was determined using a two-way ANOVA test. The research results obtained (1) the numeracy skills of students using the open-ended learning model are better compared to the numeracy skills of students receiving PBL learning; (2) students with high self-confidence levels have better numeracy skills than those with medium and low self-confidence levels; and (3) there is no interaction between the learning model and self-confidence on students' numeracy skills. This study recommends the integration of the open-ended model as an adaptive learning strategy alternative to improve numeracy skills at the senior high school.

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada hasil Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (AKM), yang menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan numerasi siswa Indonesia masih perlu ditingkatkan, serta data PISA 2022 yang menunjukkan hasil yang rendah dalam numerasi. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain quasi eksperimen nonequivalent control group design yang dilaksanakan di SMAN 2 Bayah pada Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025. Populasi dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari seluruh siswa kelas X dari sekolah tersebut, sampel penelitian terdiri dari satu kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas kontrol yang dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Pada kelas eksperimen diterapkan pembelajaran open-ended, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol diterapkan pembelajaran PBL. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik tes untuk mengukur kemampuan numerasi serta teknik nontes untuk mengukur self-confidence siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini divalidasi oleh dua orang ahli serta dibuktikan validitasnya. Pengaruh model pembelajaran open-ended terhadap kemampuan numerasi ditinjau dari self-confidence siswa SMA ditentukan dengan Uji ANOVA dua jalan. Hasil penelitian diperoleh (1) kemampuan numerasi siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran open-ended lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kemampuan numerasi siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran PBL; (2) siswa denganlevel self-confidence tinggi memiliki kemampuan numerasi lebih baik dari level self-confidence sedang dan rendah; dan (3) ttdak terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan self-confidence terhadap kemampuan numerasi siswa. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan integrasi model open-ended sebagai alternatif stretegi pembelajaran yang adaptif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi di jenjang sekolah menengah atas. | |||||||||
