Abstract
This study aims to design and build a brushless motor with a single coil configuration equipped with an energy recovery system to the battery. This innovation was developed as a solution to the problem of energy efficiency in conventional electric motor systems, where some electrical energy is lost due to the formation of electromagnetic fields that are not fully utilized. By utilizing the principle of reverse induction through a rectifier circuit, previously unutilized energy can be converted back into electricity and distributed to the battery. The methods used in this study include designing a brushless motor with a single coil, designing a transistor-based switching system, and integrating an energy recovery circuit. The testing process was carried out to measure the efficiency of the motor and the amount of energy that can be reused to the battery. The test results show that the power consumption of the single coil motor system drops from 33,159 Watts to 12,796 Watts when the recovery energy is channeled to the battery. This shows that the utilization of residual energy with the energy recovery system works effectively in returning some of the energy to the battery, with battery charging efficiency reaching 74.94% with 25.06% of energy lost as losses. These findings show significant potential in the development of energy-efficient electric motor systems for light applications such as fans. Keywords: brushless motor, single coil, energy recovery, energy efficiency, battery, back EMF.
