Abstract

Chemistry is a subject that is closely related to everyday life. However, chemistry learning, especially on the topic of reaction rates, often fails to connect the concepts taught with relevant real-world contexts. This situation makes it difficult for students to apply the concepts they have learned to solve problems. Therefore, there is a need for learning media that not only conveys the material but also encourages students to think critically and solve problems independently. The purpose of this study is to develop, test the feasibility, and determine student responses to a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) teaching module on the topic of reaction rates. The method used was R&D research with the ADDIE model, which includes Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The results of the study indicate that the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) teaching module developed is valid and feasible for use, with a material validation score of 0.95 and a media validation score of 0.94. Student responses to the media showed an average percentage of 92%, which falls into the “Very Good” category. Based on the research results, the development of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) teaching module is deemed valid and suitable as a learning medium.

Additional Information: Kimia adalah mata pelajaran yang memiliki keterkaitan erat dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun, pembelajaran kimia khususnya pada topik laju reaksi, sering kali konsep yang diajarkan kurang dikaitkan dengan konteks nyata yang relevan. Kondisi ini menyebabkan kesulitan bagi peserta didik dalam mengaplikasikan konsep yang telah dipelajari untuk menyelesaikan masalah. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan media pembelajaran yang tidak hanya menyampaikan materi, tetapi juga mendorong peserta didik untuk berpikir kritis dan memecahkan masalah secara mandiri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan, menguji kelayakan, dan mengetahui respon peserta didik terhadap modul ajar Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi laju reaksi. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian R&D dengan model ADDIE, yang meliputi Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, dan Evaluate. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul ajar berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dan layak digunakan, dengan skor validasi materi sebesar 0,95 dan validasi media 0,94. Respon peserta didik terhadap media tersebut menunjukkan rata-rata persentase sebesar 92% yang termasuk dalam kategori “Sangat Baik”. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, pengembangan modul ajar berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) dinilai valid dan layak sebagai media pembelajaran.
