Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of the discovery learning model with the probing prompting technique on the mathematical concept understanding ability of junior high school students. The subjects of the study were students of class VIII F and VIII G of SMPN 10 Kota Serang in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research design used was a quasi-experimental study. The instruments used in the study were a test instrument for students' mathematical concept understanding ability and a non-test instrument in the form of a student response questionnaire. Based on the results of the study, the mathematical concept understanding ability of students who applied the discovery learning model with the probing prompting technique was better than students whose learning used conventional learning models. Not only that, the students' response was very good to the application of learning using the discovery learning model with the probing prompting technique.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan model discovery learning dengan teknik probing prompting terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa SMP. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII F dan VIII G SMPN 10 Kota Serang.tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Desain penelitian yang digunakan, yaitu kuasi eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian, yaitu instrumen tes kemampuan pemahan konsep matematis siswa dan instrumen non�tes berupa angket respon siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang menerapkan model discovery learning dengan teknik probing prompting lebih baik dari pada siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Tak hanya itu, respon siswa sangat baik terhadap penerapan pembelajaran yang menggunakan model discovery learning dengan teknik probing prompting.
