Abstract

The aim of this research is to test the effectiveness of the influence of using learning media based on Visual Thinking Strategy in Augmented Reality (ViTSAR) on increasing students' reflective thinking skills in light wave material. The research method used is a quantitative research method. This type of research is a quasi experiment with a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The research population is all class XI using the independent curriculum at SMAN 1 Baros. The sample for this research was 33 students from class XI-5 as the experimental class and 33 students from class XI-4 as the control class. The sample was selected using purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in this research were essay test questions with reflective thinking skills indicators, student response questionnaires and learning implementation observation sheets. The research results showed that students' reflective thinking skills experienced changes with the percentage of indicators in reacting being 52%, comparing 29% and contamplanting 33%. Based on the t test that has been carried out, the t test result is t_count = 4.343 with a significance value of 0.000, meaning the t value is significant (p = 0.000 < 0.005). The results of students' responses to facilitating learning using ViTSAR were very good, obtaining results of 85% so that this learning media can improve students' reflective thinking skills, especially in learning the physics of light waves.
