Abstract
Background: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) was one of the leading causes of death and suffering in recent times. To replace kidney function, several therapies could be performed, one of which was hemodialysis. Patients with CKD who were about to start hemodialysis therapy often experienced anxiety. This anxiety could be managed through various therapies. One of the complementary treatments for anxiety was aromatherapy. Objective: To determine the effect of chamomile aromatherapy on anxiety levels in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis at RSUD Dr. Adjidarmo. Methods: This study used a quantitative research method with a quasi-experimental design and a one-group pretest-posttest without a control group approach. The total sample consisted of 34 participants. Sampling was conducted using non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling technique. Results: Before receiving chamomile aromatherapy, 69.7% of respondents experienced mild anxiety. After the intervention, 57.6% experienced mild anxiety, and 42.4% experienced no anxiety. The results showed a decrease in the average anxiety level after the chamomile aromatherapy intervention. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test showed a p-value of 0.000, which was <0.05, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Conclusion: Chamomile aromatherapy had a significant effect on reducing anxiety in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis.

| Additional Information: | Latar Belakang: Chronical Kidney Disease (CKD) merupakan salah satu penyebab kematian dan penderitaan yang paling banyak saat ini. Untuk dapat menggantikan fungsi ginjal terdapat beberapa terapi yang dapat dilakukan oleh penderita CKD, salah satunya adalah hemodialisis. Pasien penderita CKD yang akan memulai terapi hemodialisis seringkali merasakan cemas. Rasa cemas tersebut dapat diatasi dengan berbagai macam terapi. Salah satu penanganan kecemasan adalah terapi komplementer yang berupa aromaterapi. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui pengaruh aromaterapi chamomile terhadap kecemasan pada pasien Chronical Kidney Disease (CKD) yang menjalani hemodialisis di RSUD dr. Adjidarmo. Metode: Metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan design penelitian quasi experiment dan pendekatan one group pretest-posttest without control group design. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 34 orang. Pengambilan sampling dengan menggunakan non-probability sampling dan teknik sampling purposive sampling. Hasil: Terdapat 69,7% responden yang mengalami kecemasan ringan saat sebelum diberikan aromaterapi chamomile, 57,6% mengalami kecemasan ringan dan 42,4% tidak mengalami kecemasan setelah diberikan intervensi aromaterapi chamomile. Setelah diberikan intervensi aromaterapi chamomile rata-rata pasien tingkat kecemasannya menurun. Uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test memiliki hasil p value sebesar 0,000 yang <0,05 yang artinya Ha diterima. Kesimpulan: Aromaterapi chamomile memiliki pengaruh terhadap kecemasan pada pasien CKD yang menjalani hemodialisis. | |||||||||
