Abstract
The aim of this research is to determine the effect of gallery walk technique in students' comprehension ability especially in learning narrative text. The research approach used was quasi-experiment. The population of the research was eleventh grade at SMAN 7 Pandeglang. The sample in this research was selected non-randomly consisting of two classes. Each class consisted of 30 students both control class and experimental class. The elements tested on students' reading comprehension are main idea, supporting details, and generic structure of narrative text. The result of this research answers that gallery walk technique gives influence on students' reading comprehension skills in narrative text learning. This is shown by the results of data testing, where the post-test value of the experimental class is (82.00) while the control class is (70.57). The hypothesis testing findings reveal p.value (0.001) < (0.05), indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, and it can be concluded that the gallery walk technique has an effect in learning narrative text on students' reading comprehension skills in class XI of SMAN 7 Pandeglang.
