Abstract
As an art form, music can be understood as a symbol in communication. The relationship between music and society is a reciprocal one in which both influence each other. Music plays a role in communication with a voice that contains a message through its lyrics to then be conveyed to others. The song titled "Life’s Too Short" was popularized by a girl group from South Korea called Aespa. The lyrics in that song are quite cheerful and motivate others. The purpose of this research is to understand the meaning of the motivational message of self-confidence and not being influenced by negative opinions found in the lyrics of the K-pop song AESPA "Life's Too Short" from the perspective of Ferdinand De Saussure's theory through the semiotic analysis of signifier and signified. This research uses qualitative research methods. The result of this research is as follows; the song "Life’s Too Short" by Aespa focuses on the message of self-confidence and the importance of living life according to one's own desires and beliefs, without being overly concerned about the judgments or negative comments made by others as a form of external pressure. In addition, the song also aims to touch those who are too busy meddling in and trying to interfere with other people's lives to continue developing their own competencies and improving themselves to become better.

| Additional Information: | Sebagai karya seni, musik dapat dipahami sebagai simbol dalam komunikasi. Hubungan antara musik dan masyarakat merupakan suatu hubungan timbal balik dimana di dalam hubungan tersebut keduanya saling mempengaruhi. Musik berperan di dalam komunikasi dengan sebuah suara yang berisikan pesan melalui liriknya untuk kemudian disampaikan kepada orang lain. Lagu dengan judul “Life’s Too Short” yang dipopulerkan oleh sebuah grup perempuan asal negara Korea Selatan yaitu Aespa. Lirik yang ada didalam lagu tersebut memiliki lirik yang cukup ceria dan memotivasi orang lain. Tujuan penelitian ini, adalah untuk mengetahui makna pesan motivasi percaya diri dan tidak terpengaruh opini negatif yang terdapat dalam lirik lagu K-pop AESPA “Life's Too Short” ditinjau dari teori Ferdinand De Saussure melalui analisis semiotika petanda dan penanda. penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini ialah; lagu “Life’s Too Short” karya Aespa berfokus pada pesan kepercayaan diri dan pentingnya dalam menjalani hidup sesuai dengan keinginan dan keyakinan diri sendiri, tanpa terlalu mempedulikan penilaian atau komentar negatif yang dilakukan oleh orang lain sebagai bentuk tekanan dari luar diri kita sendiri. Selain itu, lagu tersebut juga ingin menyentuh orang yang terlalu sibuk untuk mengurusi dan mencoba mencampuri kehidupan orang lain untuk terus mengembangkan kompetensi diri dan memperbaiki diri menjadi lebih baik lagi. | |||||||||
