Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of liquidity and capital structure on company value with profitability as a mediating variable. This research uses a quantitative approach. The research population is basic industrial and chemical sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2016–2022 period. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling method so that 21 companies were obtained as research samples. Data processing was carried out using panel data regression models and path analysis, as well as the Sobel Test mediation test with the help of EVIEWS version 9 software. The research results show that H1 is rejected, namely liquidity has no significant effect on company value, H2 is accepted, namely capital structure has a significant negative effect on company value, H3 is accepted, namely profitability has a significant effect on company value, H4 is rejected, namely liquidity has no significant effect on profitability, H5 is accepted, namely capital structure has a significant negative effect on profitability, H6 is rejected, namely profitability cannot mediate the effect of liquidity on company value, and H7 is accepted, namely profitability can mediate the effect of capital structure on company value.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh likuiditas dan struktur modal terhadap nilai perusahaan dengan profitabilitas sebagai variabel mediasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah perusahaan sektor industri dasar dan kimia yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2016–2022. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling sehingga diperoleh sebanyak 21 perusahaan sebagai sampel penelitian. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan model regresi data panel dan analisis jalur (path analysis), serta uji mediasi Sobel Test dengan bantuan software Eviews 9. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa H1 ditolak yaitu likuiditas tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap nilai perusahaan, H2 diterima yaitu struktur modal berpengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap nilai perusahaan, H3 diterima yaitu profitabilitas berpengaruh signifikan terhadap nilai perusahaan, H4 ditolak yaitu likuiditas tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap profitabilitas, H5 diterima yaitu struktur modal berpengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap profitabilitas, H6 ditolak yaitu profitabilitas tidak dapat memediasi pengaruh likuiditas terhadap nilai perusahaan, dan H7 diterima yaitu profitabilitas dapat memediasi pengaruh struktur modal terhadap nilai perusahaan.
