Abstract
Background: Stroke is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide. Physical and mental impairments can lead to changes in independence and self-assessment in daily activities. A lack of independence and feelings of worthlessness or being undervalued can negatively affect the quality of life of post-stroke patients. Objective: To examine the association between independence in daily activities and self-esteem with quality of life among post-stroke patients at the Neurology Clinic of Dr. Dradjat Prawiranegara Regional Hospital. Methods: A cross-sectional quantitative study was conducted using accidental sampling with 76 participants. Data were collected using the Barthel Index, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), and the short version of the Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale (SS-QOL). Chi-square tests were used for bivariate analysis. Results: The study findings showed a significant relationship between independence in performing daily activities and quality of life (p = 0.001; < α (0.05)), as well as a significant relationship between self-esteem and quality of life (p = 0.005; < α (0.05)). Conclusion: Independence in daily activities and self-esteem are significantly associated with the quality of life in post-stroke patients.

| Additional Information: | Latar Belakang: Stroke menjadi salah satu penyebab kecacatan secara global. Hambatan fisik dan mental dapat menimbulkan perubahan kemandirian dan penilaian diri dalam aktivitas sehari-hari. Ketidakmandirian dan perasaan tidak berguna atau dihargai berdampak pada kualitas hidup pasien pasca stroke. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kemandirian dalam aktivitas sehari-hari dan harga diri dengan kualitas hidup pasien pasca stroke di Poli Saraf RSUD dr. Dradjat Prawiranegara. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah accidental sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 76 responden. Data primer diperoleh dari pengisian kuesioner karakteristik responden, kuesioner kemandirian dalam aktivitas sehari-hari yakni Barthel Index, kuesioner penilaian harga diri yakni RSES, dan kuesioner penilaian spesifik kualitas hidup pasien passca stroke yakni SS-QOL versi singkat. Analisis bivariat dilakukan dengan uji statistik chi square. Hasil: Temuan penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara kemandirian dalam melakukan aktivitas sehari-hari dengan kualitas hidup (p = 0,001; < α (0,05)) serta terdapat hubungan antara harga diri dengan kualitas hidup (p = 0,005; < α (0,05)). Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan antara kemandirian dalam melakukan aktivitas sehari-hari dengan kualitas hidup serta terdapat hubungan antara harga diri dengan kualitas hidup. | |||||||||
