Abstract
Background : Based on the central statistics agency, in 2022, the total population of Banten Province is estimated to reach 12,431.39 people. Looking at the data from BPS, from 2022 to 2024, there has been an increase in the population in Banten Province every year. The use of contraceptive methods is an action aimed at regulating the population. Long-Term Contraceptive Methods, such as Intrauterine Devices (IUDs), are considered more effective in preventing pregnancy. Purpose: This study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of women of childbearing age (WUS) and the use of IUD contraception. Method: This study used a quantitative type with a cross-sectional design. A sample of 107 respondents was taken using the Slovin formula from the WUS population in the Balaraja Health Center work area, Tangerang Regency, Banten, in 2025. Statistical test analysis using SPSS (Statistical Program for Social Science) version 21.0. Results: The study showed that out of 107 respondents, only 5 people (55.6%) with good knowledge used IUDs, while 21 people (21.1%) with good knowledge did not use IUDs. There were no respondents with poor knowledge who used IUDs, and 42 people (42.2%) from this group did not use IUDs. Statistical tests showed a significant relationship between the level of knowledge of WUS and the use of IUDs P-value = 0.018 (p> 0.005). Conclusion: The results of this study showed a significant relationship between the relationship to the use of intrauterine devices (IUDs). Suggestion: The results of this study are expected to be used as evaluation material in improving family planning services, especially in increasing the scope of IUD contraceptive use.

Melihat data dari BPS tersebut, dari tahun 2022 hingga 2024, ada kenaikan jumlahpenduduk di Provinsi Banten setiap tahunnya. penggunaan metode kontrasepsi merupakan tindakan yang bertujuan untuk mengatur jumlah penduduk. Metode Kontrasepsi Jangka Panjang, seperti Intrauterine Device (IUD), dianggap lebih efektif dalam mencegah kehamilan. Tujuan : penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan wanita usia subur (WUS) dengan penggunaan kontrasepsi IUD. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional. Sampel sebanyak 107 responden diambil menggunakan rumus Slovin dari populasi WUS di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Balaraja, Kabupaten Tangerang, Banten, tahun 2025. analisis uji statistik menggunakan SPSS (Statistical Program for Social Science) versi 21.0. Hasil : penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 107 responden, hanya 5 orang (55,6%) dengan pengetahuan baik yang menggunakan IUD, sementara 21 orang (21,1%) dengan pengetahuan baik tidak menggunakan IUD. Tidak ada responden dengan pengetahuan kurang yang menggunakan IUD, dan 42 orang (42,2%) dari kelompok ini tidak menggunakan IUD. Uji statistik menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara tingkat pengetahuan WUS dengan penggunaan IUD P-value = 0,018 (p > 0,005). Kesimpulan : hasil penelitian ini terdapat hubungan signifikan antara hubungan terhadap penggunaan alat kontrasepsi intra uterin device (IUD). Saran : Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan evaluasi dalam peningkatan pelayanan keluarga berencana, khususnya dalam meningkatkan cakupan penggunaan kontrasepsi IUD. | |||||||||
